Your eye examination will include a complete inspection of your ocular health including pupil dilation to ensure the structures inside your eyes are healthy. Our eye doctors use the latest technology, including retinal imaging to evaluate the internal structures of your eyes. These retinal examinations are crucial as many ocular eye diseases can manifest without you experiencing any symptoms. Our optometrists provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.

With our years of experience in diagnosing and treating typical vision disorders conjunctivitis, pink eye, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, our optometrists are equipped to provide necessary therapeutic medical eye care and management. Based on your diagnosis, we may recommend a wide variety of approaches, including improved nutrition, prescription ocular or oral medication, or recommending and referring you for surgical procedures.

North York Eye Clinic recommends all patients to have digital retinal photography.

Retinal photography allows the interior structures of the eye such as the retina, optic disc, macula and posterior pole to be better examined by the eye doctor.  Retinal photography is used by optometrists and ophthalmologists to detect, diagnose and monitor the progression of diseases inside the eye. Retinal photography also allows the image to be examined by a specialist at another location and/or time, as well as providing photo documentation for future reference. Retinal photography is used to detect, diagnose and manage many eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive retinopathy.
